Major General (Ret.) John T. Furlow is a great patriot and an enormous influence on many active and former service members alike.
He entered military service in August 1977 and has held a wide range of command and staff positions over the course of his distinguished career. His early assignments include positions within the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas; the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea; and the
5th Infantry Division at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He later served at Fort Gordon and Fort Benning, Georgia; the 71st First Troop Command; and the 49th Armored Division of the Texas Army National Guard.
As his career advanced, he took on increasingly senior leadership roles, including Executive Officer of the 3rd Brigade, 49th Armored Division; Battalion Commander of the 136th Signal
Battalion; and Task Force Commander of the 143rd Infantry (Airborne). He later served as Chief of the Audit Division at the United States Property and Fiscal Office for Texas, Brigade Commander of the 2nd Brigade, 49th Armored Division, and Chief of Staff of the 49th Armored Division.
In April 2006, he assumed command of the 36th Infantry Division, Texas Army National Guard, at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas. He was also detailed as the Assistant Adjutant General–Army for the Texas Military Forces. His most recent military role was serving as the Deputy Commanding General (Support) of United States Army South (USARSO). He has received numerous major awards, decorations, and educational distinctions throughout his career—too many to list.
In his civilian career, Major General Furlow is self-employed as a Certified Public Accountant
(CPA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a licensed attorney. He performs non-routine
investigative accounting assignments of varying scope that may or may not culminate in litigation. He also provides business and management consulting services to small to
medium-sized businesses seeking guidance in business development, investment banking, change management, profit and loss strategic control, and long-term strategic planning.
Major General Furlow has provided immeasurable assistance in the counter sex trafficking space and is looked to by many prominent individuals as a trusted mentor across a wide range of disciplines. His legal and accounting expertise will be well utilized in helping Global Provision Project ensure that every dollar raised is allocated and managed with the highest level of
integrity and impact.
