Bill Edson is a retired U.S. Army Green Beret whose life of service has been defined by a
commitment to protecting the vulnerable and uplifting communities in violent crises. With a distinguished career in special operations and deep ties to the intelligence community, Bill is widely respected for his integrity, leadership, and the lasting—though often unspoken—impact of his contributions. While many of his missions remain classified, his legacy is evident in the lives he has touched and the freedoms he has helped secure.
Bill has also played a pivotal role in multiple humanitarian efforts, most notably assisting in
rescue operations in Afghanistan, where he led efforts to support the evacuation of persecuted Christians and other at-risk individuals. He has worked tirelessly with organizations like
Sandhills Adult & Teen Challenge to combat veteran addiction and suicide, playing a pivotal role in establishing a military support center named in honor of teammate Nathan Horvatich. Bill also works closely with the American Military Foundation and other grassroots organizations to raise
funds, awareness, and direct support for veterans.
Through his involvement with Global Provision Project, he continues to advance this mission—exploring equine therapy, land-based healing programs for equine
therapy/veterans’ outreach, etc., and long-term support solutions for those navigating trauma and reintegration. Grounded in humility and purpose, Bill’s leadership is a powerful force behind GPP’s vision of care, dignity, and global impact.
